Contract is first of three for Al-Khor sewage network expansion scheme
Qatar’s Public Works Authority has invited bids from contractors for the first package of a project to extend the sewage network in the Al-Khor area.
The overall scheme is divided into three packages.
The first package comprises the construction of area sewerage and trunk sewers for the northern area of Al-Khor. This includes a 1,625-metre-long foul sewer network by open-cut trench with diameters ranging between 20-40 centimetres in addition to 5,500 metres of microtunnelling for pipes with diameters of between 40-100 centimetres.
About 162 manholes will need to be created and roughly 570 metres of 15-centimetre-diameter vitrified clay pipelines will also be required for house connections along with a forward pumping station.
Phase two of the scheme will upgrade the network in the northern area, while phase three will focus on the southern region.
