Survey will apply to listed companies
Qatar’s Ministry of Business and Trade is considering a corporate social responsibility (CSR) index for listed companies in order to measure their social commitment and application, Gulf Times has reported. “A working group representing several ministries and stakeholders was formed to propose specific criteria for this responsibility,” Mohamed Hassan al-Saadi, assistant undersecretary at the ministry said. Around 75 per cent of the companies have responded positively to the questionnaire prepared and distributed by the ministry, seeking specific criteria on CSR from local and foreign companies operating in Qatar, he added.
