Winning contractor to build foundations and superstructure for office towers
National oil company Qatar Petroleum (QP) is inviting contractors to bid by 31 January for the contract to build its new headquarters building, known as the Qatar Petroleum Complex, at Lusail.
The contract involves building four office towers of nine to 15 storeys, linked by a ground-level concourse. Once completed, some 3,000 staff are expected to be based at the complex, which is situated to the north of the capital.
Alongside the office towers, further proposals for the site include a medical centre, corporate training facilities, data centres, multistorey car parks, a sports stadium and associated infrastructure (MEED 3:9:09).
The US’ Skidmore Owings & Merrill is the architect and US-based Martha Schwartz Partners designed the landscaping.
