Project will supply between 3,000 and 5,000MW
Qatar Electricity and Water (Kahramaa) is to set up an electricity plant with a capacity of up to 5,000MW by 2016 to meet rising demand, Reuters has reported. The proposed plant “is able to supply likely between 3,000 and 5,000MW, or three to four years’ requirement,” Kahramaa’s managing director, Fahad Al Mohannadi, told the news service. Work on the plant is expected to begin by 2013, he added.
