Qatar Rail has received bids for the contract to complete the major stations works on the Doha Metro project.

It is understood that the bidders are:

• Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) (Athens-based)
• Midmac Contracting Company (local)
• Salini Impregilo (Italy)/SK Engineering & Construction (South Korea)/Galfar al-Misnad Engineering & Contracting (local)

Qatar Rail terminated the joint venture of South Korea’s Samsung C&T, Spain’s OHL and the local Qatar Building Company (QBC) on the major stations work in May this year. Qatar Rail then awarded CCC a six month construction management contract for the works.

The Major Stations project involves the construction of Msheireb and Education City stations on the Doha Metro.
