Independent schools in Qatar have been warned by the Supreme Education Council (SEC) against dismissing or expelling students from classes as a form of punishment and in a manner that could risk their safety, the Peninsula has reported. Expelling students without official approval and suspending them from classes for more than three days is a serious breach of rules, the SEC said in a circular. No student can be denied entry into the school or sent home without the parents being informed, the SEC added.
