The local Qatargas has signed an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) framework deal with a subsidiary of the US’ Foster Wheeler and its partner the local/Ireland Qatar Kentz.

The agreement will encompass any project associated with the Qatargas liquefied natural gas (LNG) complex at Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar. Both offshore and onshore work is included in the contract.

In a statement, Foster Wheeler said the award is for three years, with the option to extend for a further two years.

The statement also said Qatargas plans to issue invitations to contractors to bid for specific packages of work, including front-end engineering and design (feed) contracts.
