Shipment marks Qatargas’ final commissioning cargo delivery to regasification facility
Qatargas has delivered the final commissioning cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the new Gate Terminal regasification facility in Rotterdam.
The cargo is the first shipment of LNG from Qatar to the Gate Terminal.
The terminal is the first independent LNG-importing terminal in the Netherlands and has been developed by the main Dutch shareholders NV Nederlandse Gasunie and Royal Vopak. It has a throughput capacity of 12bn cubic meters a year, which can be expanded to 16bn cubic metres. The facility consists of three storage tanks, two jetties and a processing area.
