Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Comapny (QIMC) plans to spend QR78m ($21.4m) to more than quadruple the production capacity of its subsidiary producing acids, and to venture into manufacturing of wooden pallets, Gulf Time has reported. “The board has approved the capacity increase of Qatar Acids Co (Q-Acids) from 10,000 to 43,000 tonnes per year,” a spokesman for QIMC said. The new project is expected to start production by the second quarter of 2012.
