Rabigh losses narrows in third quarter

Losses attributed to lower sales of petrochemical products and the shutdown of plants in August

Rabigh Refining and Petrochemicals Company, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical Company, has posted SR237.2m in third-quarter losses, down from SR844.7m loss in the corresponding quarter in 2009, Saudi Gazette has reported. The loss was attributed to lower sales of petrochemical products because of the shutdown of plants in August, the company said in a statement.
