Local real estate developer ALDAR Properties has invited companies to bid by 31 May and 7 June for two marine works packages on its Raha Beach development.

Local real estate developer ALDAR Properties has invited companies to bid by 31 May and 7 June for two marine works packages on its Raha Beach development.

The first package, covering precinct A, involves the construction of a 3 kilometre-long diaphragm wall.

The prequalifiers include: the local/Turkish joint venture (JV) of Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises and STFA Soil Group; Germany's Bauer; the local Middle East Foundations; South Africa's Murray & Roberts Contractors (Middle East); the local NSCC; the local/Brazilian JV of Al-Jaber Group with Odebrecht, France's Soletanche Bachy; Swissboring, part of Italy's Trevi Group; and VSL, part of France's Bouygues.

The second package, covering precincts B and C, involves the construction of conventional rubble and concrete block quay walls and the dredging of marine channels. The prequalifiers include: Geneva-registered Archirodon Construction (Overseas); Denmark's MT Hojgaard; Murray & Roberts, with the local Target Engineering Contracting Company; the local Overseas AST, with the Netherlands' Interbeton; and the local/Belgian JV of Six Construct Abu Dhabi. Tender documents are expected by late May for a third package.

The UK's Maunsell is the consultant (MEED 31:3:06).
