RAK International airport to expand in 2012
RAK International airport in Ras al-Khaimah has appointed an airport director and a commercial director in line with plans to expand operations at the airport.
Andrew Gower is now airport director and Mohammed Qazi is commercial director. Gower previously worked at Liverpool’s John Lennon airport in the UK. His roles there included terminal services director, director of operations and airport director. Before joining Liverpool airport, Gower worked at Manchester International airport.
Mohammed Qazi previously worked in 13 airports in the UK, including Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted and other regional airports. Qazi was also responsible for the turnaround of the world’s largest ground handling business, Swissport for Stansted airport delivering a $3.3m profit from an $800m loss within 10 months.
