The UAE-based airline also plans to increase flights to Doha

Ras al-Khaimah budget carrier RAK Airways says it will start flights to Kuwait and increase the number of flights to Qatar.

Flights to Kuwait will start on 20 November and the number of weekly flights to Doha will be increased to seven on 30 October. With the addition of Kuwait, the airline now flies to nine destinations.

“With the introduction of daily flights to Kuwait and Qatar, RAK Airways is able to further its footprint in the GCC region,” says Omar Jahameh, chief executive officer of RAK Airways. “With the latent opportunities in Qatar in the lead up to the 2022 World Cup, we have increased the frequency of our flights to enhance our offering for business travellers looking to capitalise on the resulting rise in trade and tourism.”

The airline is currently seeking to add more routes to its network. RAK Airways was relaunched on 10 October 2010, having suspended operations for more than a year (MEED 10:10:2010).
