Ramboll secures Abu Dhabi consultancy role

Firm will work on the Makers District on Reem Island

Denmark’s Ramboll has been appointed by local real estate developer Imkan as the lead consultant for the first phase of its AED2bn ($545m) Makers District development on Abu Dhabi’s Reem Island.

Ramboll will provide lead consultancy services on the first phase of Makers District, working alongside architects Denmark’s BIG and MVRDV of the Netherlands.

Ramboll’s contract is valued at AED120m.

The waterfront scheme comprises a mix of residential, hospitality, commercial and retail space spread across an area of 180,000 square metres of land. Once complete, it will have more than 1,000 residential units, 11,000 square metres of commercial and retail space. The scheme is scheduled for completion in 2020.

Imkan is a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Capital Group (ADCG).
