Dubai-based developer Chapal World has awarded a AED367m ($100m) contract to the local Ranya Group.

The scope of work includes the construction of two 26-storey buildings covering an area of 85,000 square metres. The buildings will feature one, two and three-bedroom apartments, a swimming pool and health spa.

Work on the project, which is located in Dubai Sports City, is expected to be completed in December 2009.

Earlier this year, South Korea’s Sungwon Corporation won a AED300m construction contract for a hotel apartment building in Sports City called The Cube. BMG Middle East Development, a subsidiary of Germany’s BMG, is the client (MEED 19:2:08).
