Region could see 10 new low cost carriers

04 January 2009

The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (Capa) has forecast that 10 budget carriers could be launched in the Middle East over the next five years. Low-cost passengers account for about 2% of the region's air traffic. This figure is set to increase when Flydubai and the new Low Cost Terminal at Jebel Ali's new airport take off in mid-2009.
