Riyadh Metro expected to be completed in 2019
The Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) has awarded Finlands Kone a contract to supply 418 elevators and escalators for the Riyadh Metro Line 3.
Line 3 extends 41 kilometres across 22 stations.
The contract entails 262 escalators and 156 elevators, all of which will be equipped with Kones e-link monitoring systems.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
The $23bn, 176km Riyadh Metro has six lines and is expected to be completed in 2019.
The Arriyadh Development Authority received offers for the contract to operate and maintain (O&M) the Riyadh Metro in December last year.
In early 2016, Kone also won a contract to supply moving walkways, escalators and elevators for the under-construction new terminal at Bahrain International airport.
