Riyadh awards two power plant reinforcement contracts

Contracts worth $272.5m in total

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has awarded contracts to local contractors to reinforce two existing power plants.

SEC signed a contract with Al-Fanar Company to reinforce a power plant at Hail in the country’s Central region. The deal is worth SR815.6m ($217.5m).

A smaller contract for the Al-Jouf power plant in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern region has been signed with National Contracting Company. The deal is worth SR206.2m ($55.0m).

Both contracts were signed on 6 April and completion of both projects is to be reached by January 2012.
