Saudi Arabia’s Water & Electricity Company (WEC) has extended the bid deadline for the planned independent water and power plant (IWPP) at Ras al-Zour WPP by 12 weeks from 10 February to 4 May 2008.
According to WEC, the deadline was extended in response to multiple requests from developers and due to the tight market conditions affecting engineering, procurement and construction contactors and equipment suppliers. WEC prequalified ten potential bidders in May. Five more were conditionally prequalified.
