The scope of work covers infrastructure work including roads, parking and walkways, storm and drainage systems, telecommunications, landscape, and recreational and sporting facilities. It represents the fourth phase of the development.

The closing date for bids is 10 August and the project duration is 730 days. A pre-bid meeting will be held on 1 July.

According to Bechtel programme manager George Dinic, four contracts are pending with the commission, which are expected to be awarded soon. These include site development packages and the construction of pipeline corridors in Jubail 2.

In May, the commission awarded a SR527m ($141m) housing contract to the local Redico to build two sets of housing units, comprising 412 residential units in total (MEED 5:5:08).
