The event is taking place at the Crowne Plaza Riyadh RDC Hotel & Convention Centre and will bring together senior executives for a comprehensive overview of the kingdom’s construction industry. It will serve as a platform to explore the crucial role played by leaders in advancing smart and sustainable construction practices. 

 Mena to outperform global construction in 2023

So far this year, Saudi Arabia has been the region’s busiest market for construction activity, with $32.4bn-worth of construction and transport contract awards, according to data from regional projects tracker MEED Projects.

Saudi Arabia’s construction projects market accounts for more than 50 per cent of the total GCC market and is experiencing significant growth, driven by its gigaprojects. 

The surge in project activity and long-term plans for economic diversification and development have attracted contractors from Qatar and the UAE to seek – and win – projects in Saudi Arabia.

With a focus on meeting the objectives of the kingdom's Vision 2030 strategy, this inaugural event will enable industry experts to engage in panel discussions and fireside chats on key topics such as energy efficiency in construction, modern construction methods and developing the skills required to successfully deliver Saudi Arabia's multitude of projects.

The event will cover the opportunities and challenges of offsite construction, including best practices for project delivery, quality control and environmental impact reduction. It will also explore the role of technology, such as BIM, modular construction and 3D printing, in advancing offsite and industrialised construction techniques.
