Biography: Robert Mohammed joined National Bank of Abu Dhabi (Nbad) in his current position in June 2008.

He has more than 25 years banking experience in origination, execution and distribution of fixed-income products. He joined Nbad from Bahrain’s Arab Banking Corporation, where he was head of the medium-term note and ratings advisory business.

Prior to that, he was at Germany’s Deutsche Bank in the firm’s London office, where he was global head of medium-term note origination. Mohammed started his career at Chase Manhattan Bank, now part of the US’ JP Morgan Chase before moving in 1988 to Merrill Lynch, also in the US.

Recent deals include International Petroleum Investment Corporation’s $2.5bn deal, three transactions for Dubai Electricity &Water Authority, Qatar National Bank’s $1.5bn deal and Dubai government’s $2.5bn transaction in 2009.
