British company to supply gas turbine generators for Satah al-Razboot field development

Rolls-Royce has been awarded a contract by Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (Adma-Opco) to supply power generation equipment for its project on the Satah al-Razboot (Sarb) offshore oil field.

The deal was awarded by Adma-Opco’s main engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor on the project, Hyundai Engineering & Construction.

UK-based Rolls-Royce will supply five aero-derivative Trent 60 gas turbine generator sets for the offshore production platforms and oil and gas processing facilities on Zirku Island.

“Each Trent 60 gas turbine is capable of producing up to 66MW of power… This contract brings the total number of Trent 60 gas turbines operating in the UAE oil and gas market to 14,” said Rolls-Royce in a statement.

The Zirku Island oil and gas processing facility will have a daily capacity of 200,000 barrels of oil, equivalent to 160,000 200-litre drums, and 35 million cubic feet of gas.
