Rose Rotana ready for lift-off

Turkey's Zetasis scheduled to complete piling and excavation works by late November for the estimated AED 250 million ($68 million) Rose Rotana Suites development on Sheikh Zayed highway in Dubai. The project is one of four major developments being pursued by the Abu Dhabi-based Rotana Groupin Dubai.

The 333-metre-high tower will have 72 storeys containing 480 hotel apartments, covered car parking and leisure facilities. Lebanon's Arabian Construction Company (ACC) has been selected for the main construction package, while Khatib & Alami, also of Lebanon, is the consultant on the three-year project. The client is the local Abdullah bin Brook Facility.

Construction is set to start by year-end on the main package for the AED 200 million ($54 million) Rotana Amwaj Beach Complex, located within the Jumeirah Beach Residence development. The project, due for completion in 2007, calls for the construction of 300 rooms and suites with leisure and entertainment facilities. The UK's Mace Internationalis the project manager.

Two other projects, the AED 60 million ($16 million) Villa Rotana Suites and the AED 250 million Rotana al-Murooj are already under construction and are due for completion by the second quarter of 2005. The US-based Artec Architectural & Engineering Consultantsis the lead consultant for Al-Murooj, with Hill International, also of the US, acting as project manager. The local Al-Ahmadiah Contractingis the main contractor (MEED 6:8:04).
