Saba Properties awards Jumeirah Lake Towers work to Arabtec

Local developer Saba Properties JLT has awarded the local Arabtec Construction a AED664m ($180m) contract to build its Saba 4 tower at Jumeirah Lake Towers.

The 222-metre-high tower has 51 floors of office space and a multi-floor parking area. Work on the super structure is expected to start in early 2009.

Arabtec is also the frontrunner for the contract to build a resort on the North Beach of Saadiyat island in Abu Dhabi emirate.

The estimated AED1.5bn ($409m) contract involves the construction of a hotel with 380 rooms on the first site, along with seven residential buildings with 250 apartments, parking areas and 32 villas. The second site will have 75 luxury villas, together with a clubhouse and sports facilities (MEED 19:8:08).
