Sabic plans new projects, expects demand from China and Europe

22 March 2012

Mohamed al-Mady, the chief executive of Saudi Basic Industries Corp (Sabic) has announced plans to start projects in the manufacturing industry next quarter, as demand is expected to continue this year from China and Europe, Reuters has reported. "We will start the designs and the execution will be in early 2013," al-Mady said, adding that some of those projects will start production in 2016. "It is true that growth in China fell from 8.5% to 6.5% but I don't think there is a fear of a decline in demand from China," he said.
