Saeed Mohammad al-Tayer

Biography: Saeed Mohammad al-Tayer has more than 25 years of experience working in the power and water sector. In 1991, he was appointed as the director general of Dubai Electricity Company. In 1992, he became the director general of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) when Dubai Electricity Company merged with the emirate’s Water Department. Al-Tayer took up his current role in 2004. As chief executive officer and managing director, Al-Tayer has focused on introducing the innovative technologies to Dewa. He is currently a member of the Executive Council of Dubai and chairman of the Infrastructure Committee. He also sits on the boards of Dubai’s Council for Economic Affairs, the Higher Committee of the National Grid UAE, Dubai Aluminium, Emirates Aluminium, Dubai Bank and Emirates Central Cooling Systems.
