Biography: Safwan Moubaydeen has worked in association with UK law firm Denton Wilde Sapte since September 2007.
He was voted into Denton’s partnership in July last year, having joined the firm as ‘of counsel’ when he was based in Doha. Moubaydeen previously worked as of counsel with US law firm Patton Boggs from 2004 to 2007, advising on Jordanian law under the law firm name of Law Office of Fayez & Safwan Moubaydeen.
While working for Patton Boggs, he was a member of the team that acted as local Qatari counsel to the export credit agencies and lenders on the Qatargas II Project, the largest liquefied natural gas project financing ever undertaken.
Moubaydeen was also the personal legal adviser to the late King Hussein of Jordan. Moubaydeen has more than 20 years’ experience practising law, primarily in Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan.
