CB&I and Petrofac carrying out study on southern Oman project
US-based CB&I and the UKs Petrofac have been awarded contracts to carry out the front-end engineering and design (feed) study for a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) extraction plant in Salalah Free Zone, Oman, according to local media.
The project is being developed by Oman Gas Company (OGC) with the aim of recovering butane, propane and condensates from the gas system in the south of the country.
Oman Daily Observer quoted acting CEO Abdulaziz al-Mujaibi saying that the two international engineering groups were working on the feed, and the project is expected to be commissioned in 2019.
