Biography: Saleh Al-Hathloul is the chairman of Riyadh-based Al-Hathloul Development Company, which consults on national and regional development and regeneration strategies.

Al-Hathloul was previously the Saudi deputy minister for town planning from 1984 to 2004. He is an adjunct associate professor at the School of Architecture and Planning at the King Saud University in Riyadh. Al-Hathloul is a member of the board for several government firms, including the Arriyadh Development Authority and Makkah Development Authority.

Al-Hathloul graduated in 1972, with a degree in architecture from the King Saud University. He has a master’s degree in urban design from Harvard University, US, and a doctorate in architecture and environmental studies from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, also in the US.
