Saudi Arabia, Kuwait sign partnership for new international schools

Riyadh-based Al-Faris International School (AFIS) has signed a partnership agreement with a Kuwaiti educational company to establish new international schools in Saudi Arabia next year at a total cost of SR1bn, Saudi Gazette has reported. Al-Faris group reported that investment in education in the Kingdom during the current year amounted to SR250m and is expected to climb to SR500m by 2014. The owner and school director of AFIS Sahar Al-Marzouki has estimated that the number of Saudi students enrolled in international schools will increase by 100% by the 2012/2013 school year.
