Entrant: Zahid Group of Companies
Project owner: Saudi Electricity Company (SEC)
Description: Local power company Altaaqa, part of the Zahid Group of Companies, worked on SECs 95MW temporary power plant project in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia. The project is the biggest interim power plant ever constructed in the country and the fastest-built in the history of the global energy industry. It supported the kingdoms electricity supply during the summer months of 2014, allowing the countrys industries, particularly oil and gas, to continue producing to satisfy global demand. Thanks to the 95MW temporary power plant, a global oil supply crisis was averted, and the stability of the global economy was maintained.
