Description: The King Saud University (KSU) Endowment project was envisioned to create an academic complex for women in various medical, scientific, and humane majors, and is expected to accommodate up to 30,000 female students across 12 colleges. The second-largest campus for women in the kingdom, the scheme has been designed by Schneider Electric to be environmental friendly.
Schneider found that by controlling and monitoring the high-voltage power system, which consumes about 70 per cent of the campus’s energy consumption, carbon dioxide emissions and the overall carbon footprint could be reduced by up to 30 per cent.
The campus contains parks, water and other recreational elements. During the construction, Schneider ensured there was minimum disruption to the surrounding natural environment.
