Eight factories already operating at manufacturing hub in King Abdullah Economic City
Construction work on the first phase of the Industrial Valley at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) has been completed and eight factories are now operating at the site.
The first phase comprises 7 million square metres of development at the city on the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia, but 20 million sq m of land will eventually be available.
US confectioner Mars already has a factory in operation as well as several pharmaceutical firms. The local Al-Zahid has also produced the first Volvo truck from its complex. Another 24 factories are under construction and are expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
