Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) has extended the deadline for bids for the consultancy contract on the newest phase of the country’s water and wastewater network privatisation programme.

The deadline for the contract which covers consultancy services for the sale and reuse of treated sewage effluent and sludge was postponed from 30 August to 20 September at the request of potential bidders.

Separately, NWC has also completed the evaluation of bids for the consultancy contract on the privatisation of water networks in Greater Dammam, Medina and Mecca.

It has requested clarifications from the bidders and the announcement of a preferred bidder is expected before the end of the month. NWC received four technical bids, three financial bids and five legal bids from consultants on 30 June (MEED 9:8:08).
