Saudi Freyssinet wins Economic City contract

Saudi Freyssinet has been awarded a SR348m ($95m) contract to develop commercial buildings in King Abdullah Economic City, on the Red Sea coast.

Freyssinet will design and construct two office buildings in the business park in Bay La Sun Village, an integrated residential community in the city. One building will be for the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (Sagia).

The five-building business park covers a total area of 258,000 square metres. Emaar, The Economic City is the client.

On 3 February US-based Cisco was awarded the contract to design the information and communications technology infrastructure for King Abdullah Economic City.

The technology firm is already developing the communications network for the Knowledge Economic City, near Medina (MEED3:02:08).
