Saudi Oger to complete work on Meridian Towers by end of 2008

Saudi Oger is to complete work on the final six towers of the Meridian Towers development in Mecca by the end of 2008.

The firm has been involved in the electromechanical works within the eight-tower complex. The contract value for the work is estimated at SR500m ($133m).

The project is located within 1,500 metres of the Haram and will be connected with the courtyard through a tunnel.

Mecca is undergoing major redevelopment.

A number of major projects are being developed including the seven-tower $1.6bn Abraj al-Bait, being developed by Saudi Binladin Group and the $2.7bn Jabal Omar development, being developed by the Jabal Omar Development Company.
