Saudi Telecom set for Syrian mobile license bid

The deadline for submitting a prequalification application is November 14

Saudi Telecom (STC) is interested in bidding for a mobile licence in Syria, Reuters has reported. Last month, Syria tendered a third mobile operator licence, with a deadline for submitting a prequalification application expiring on November 14. The two current operators in Syria are South Arica’s MTN and Syriatel, which is mostly owned by Syrian businessman Rami Makhlouf.
