Seattle company wins Umm Qasr port management contract

Seattle-based Stevedoring Services of Americahas been awarded a $4.8 million contract to run the deep-water harbour in Umm Qasr, taken by the US-led coalition in the first days of the war in Iraq.

This is the second contract awarded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) out of eight tendered for rebuilding Iraq after the conflict.
