Second phase of residential community launched in King Abdullah Economic City

Emaar, the Economic City has launched the second phase of the Esmeralda Suburb, located in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC).

The residential project will be spread over 160,000 square metres, and will include schools, retail centres and leisure facilities including a golf course. It is due to be completed in 2010.

The first phase was launched in May.

Esmeralda Suburb is part of the residential communities component of KAEC. Other sectors include the industrial zone, education zone and central business district (CBD).

Rececntly Emaar, the Economic City reached an agreement with Emaar Education to open the Raffles International School in Bay La Sun Village community.

It is the second education facility in the economic city following an agreement with Global Education Management Systems (GEMS) to open the first school in KAEC (MEED 01:06:08).
