Seven chase Beirut Four Seasons

12 December 2003
The Kingdom Development Company (Kadco) receivedseven bids on 8 December from local and international contractors for the main package on the Beirut Four Seasons hotel. Bids are understood to range between $51 million-58 million (MEED 7:11:03).

Kadco is expected to draw up a shortlist of preferred bidders based on its technical evaluation of bids. The selected companies will then be asked to submit final prices. Contract award is expected in February (MEED 7:11:03).

The centrepiece of the main package, which covers the structure, fit-out and cladding for the new 33-storey hotel located in Solidere's hotel district, will be a 90-metre reinforced concrete tower, which will house the 300-room hotel. The enabling works package was carried out by Germany's Bauer. The consultant on the project is Beirut-based Dar al-Handasah (Shair & Partners).
