The bidders are understood to include Turkey's Baytur Construction & Contracting Company, US-based Contrack International, Bahrain's Cebarco, Cyprus-based Joannou & Paraskevaides (J&P), Japan's Taiseiand Construction Development Company (CDC) and Midmac Contracting Company, both local.
The contract covers foundations, structures, finishings and mechanical, electrical and plumbing works on the striking five-storey structure, which will be located opposite the Finance Ministry building. IMP Architectsof the US is the design consultant; the construction manager is the US' Turner Internationalwith Kuwait's Projacs(MEED 5:3:04; 26:9:03).
