Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has formed a strategic partnership with Kuwaiti real estate developer Mabanee to develop a shopping mall in Sharjah.
Located on Mohammed bin Zayed Road in the Mughaider area, the mall will cover an area of 65,000 square metres and will have a mix of shops and entertainment outlets.
Mabanee has developed several large shopping malls across the GCC. In its home market of Kuwait it has built The Avenues Kuwait, and in October last year it opened The Avenues Bahrain. Construction work ongoing for The Avenues Riyadh and The Avenues Al-Khobar in Saudi Arabia.
Shurooq is partnering with investors to develop other projects in Sharjah. In January, together with Abu Dhabi’s Eagle Hills it officially launched three projects in the emirate worth a total of AED2.7bn ($736m).
