Sharjah tenders Khalid bridge

03 March 2009

Sharjah’s Public Works department has issued tender documents for an estimated AED250m ($68m) bridge crossing Khalid lagoon.

The project involves the construction of a road bridge with a main span of about 70 metres crossing the Khalid lagoon between the Blue Souk and King Faisal mosque area and the Al-Layyah suburb. It will have three to four lanes in each direction.

The bridge is part of the King Abdulaziz road scheme which, when completed, will provide an east-west link through Sharjah between University City and Layyah.
