Shibh al-Jazira tipped to land $100m infrastructure contract

Saudi firm Shibh al-Jazira Contracting Company has been tipped to sign a SR375m ($100m) infrastructure contract for a road scheme in Jeddah.

The contract covers the construction of a main road and accompanying service road and interchanges for a 15-kilometre stretch of ring road in the south of Jeddah.

The contract is expected to be signed within the next month, and is due to take three years. The Transport Ministry is the client.

Shibh al-Jazira is involved in the construction of the SR900m ring road in the capital, Riyadh. Awarded in March 2006, the contract centres on the construction of a 30 kilometre eight-lane highway (MEED 17:3:06).
