The local Pan Arab Enterprise for Pipeline Construction has been recommended for the contract to carry out the last package on the Shuweihat water transmission network project in western Abu Dhabi (MEED 2:8:02).

Estimated to be worth AED 191 million ($52 million), package E covers the supply and installation of 110 kilometres of pipeline from Shuweihat to Sila. The consultant on the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority package is Italy's Italconsult.

The pipeline networks will serve the Shuweihat independent water and power project (IWPP), which involves the construction of a 1,500-MW, 100 million-g/d grassroots plant on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis (MEED 17:5:02).
