Siemens takes substation job

Germany’s Siemens has been awarded the contract to build the Siddiq W 300/132-kV substation.

The 24-month contract covers the supply of the Siddiq W substation and the expansion of the Ahmadi W 132/11-kV substation to 300 kV. The company submitted the lowest bid for the work in April, with a price of KD27m ($93mn).

Siemens has also been awarded the contract for the delivery of 15 main electrical transformer stations for control and monitoring centres in Kuwait.

The client is the Electricity & Water Ministry (MEED 13:4:07).
