Sirte Oil tenders gas work

The local Sirte Oil Company (SOC)is in the process of tendering for the expansion of its gas production and distribution network. The projects cover the construction of a gas pipeline; a gas injection system at the Jabal field; and civil infrastructure at the Brega gas-processing plant.

More than 20 contractors have bid for the contract to build a 120-kilometre gas pipeline between Melitah and Tripoli. The scope of work entails the installation of 97 kilometres of 34-inch and 21 kilometres of 24-inch gas line, a fire safety system and compressor station. The project is valued at about $50 million-60 million (MEED 7:12:01).

Companies have been invited to bid by 9 April for the contract to carry out civil works at the Brega gas-processing plant. Bids have also been invited for the installation of a gas injection system at the Jabal field. Contractors have until 23 April to submit proposals for the scheme.
