Seah Steel to build manufacturing facility at the emirate’s investment park

The UAE’s Ras al-Khaimah Investment Authority (Rakia) has signed a lease contract for 250,000 square metres of land with South Korea’s Seah Steel Corporation for the construction of a steel manufacturing plant in the emirate.

The new facility will produce steel pipe, tube and fittings for the Middle East and North Africa market and be located at Rakia’s Industrial Park.

“Within the coming three months we want to start construction on our production plant and are planning to be fully operational within a year from now,” says Won-Ho Jang, manager, strategic planning team for Seah Steel.

The plant’s capacity and construction budget was not disclosed.

While relatively unknown in the Middle East and North Africa region, Seah Steel Corp has operations in South Korea, US, Japan, China and Vietnam.
