Standard Chartered appointed to advise Kepco on nuclear projects

UK bank to advise on development of UAE nuclear project

Korea Electric Power Corporation (Kepco) has given a financial advisory mandate to the UK’s Standard Chartered to help the company finance the development of a nuclear power plant in the UAE.

A South Korean team of Kepco, Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Samsung Corporation signed the $40bn contract to build the country’s first four nuclear reactors on 27 December.

Previously France’s BNP Paribas had been conducting some advisory work for the Korean consortium (MEED 06:01:10).
